Yuzvendra Singh Chahal is a professional Indian cricket player born in 1990 in Jind, Haryana. He is a right-handed batsman and legbreak googly bowler.
Playing Career
Chahal was selected by Mumbai Indians in IPL in 2011, remaining with them for three seasons, before joining the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2014, where he stayed until 2021. He has played for Rajasthan Royals since 2022 taking a hat-trick that season. He became the first Indian to reach 300 wickets in T20s during the 2023 IPL season.During this period Chahal's career excelled, making his ODI and T20I debuts for India in 2016. He has played for his country more than 70 times in each format since, including memorably taking 6-25 against England in a T20I in Bangalore in 2017. In January 2019, he took a career-best 6-42 against Australia in an ODI.
Chahal was part of India's squad at the 2019 Cricket World Cup, taking 12 wickets during the tournament where India lost in the semi-finals. He surprisingly missed selection for the 2021 T20 World Cup in UAE but was in India's squad for the T20 World Cup in Australia in 2022, but didn't play.
Chahal made his first class debut in 2009 at Indore against the Madhya Pradesh cricket team. His List A debut was in 2010 at Rohtak against the Punjab team. In 2009, he had made his Twenty20 debut against the Punjab team held in Delhi.
