Stephen Norman John O’Keefe was born on 9th December 1984 in Malaysia. He is currently playing for New South Wales and is an Australian Cricketer. He is an All-rounder who bats right handed and can bowl slow left-arm orthodox. Stephen O’Keefe played his first debut match in first class cricket against Tasmania in November 2005. His first scoring shot in the game was for a six and he managed to take 2 wickets also.
When Nathan Hauritz was injured, Stephen O’Keefe was called in as a replacement against Pakistan in England for the Australian Test team. But he could not make it in the last eleven players list. His Twenty20 debut came when the team was on the tour of England.
Stephen O’Keefe is one of the most promising cricketers in Australia. During the Ashes series, he performed very well taking 4 for 88 against the strong England batting line up. He also managed to score 66 runs for the side which was a top score.
Stephen O’Keefe is one of the talented bunches of spinners in Australia where he had to compete with Jason Krejza and Nathan Hauritz, both of whom played for the Australian team.
