John Hastings
John Wayne Hastings is a cricketer playing for Victorian Bushrangers and born on 4th November 1985 in Penrith, New South Wales. He is a tall man with strong and long hitting abilities with the bat which makes him a dangerous batsman in the lower order. He is also a right-arm fast-medium bowler. On his debut in 2007-08, he grabbed 3 wickets in six deliveries for Victoria against Queensland.
John Hastings enjoyed a wonderful season in 2009-10 where he was Victoria’s leading wicket-taker in all of the three matches that he played other than the finals in all the three formats. Hence, he was named the Bradman Young Cricketer of the Year. The Australian selectors got a better idea of his talent in the Sheffield Shield where he played all round cricket with ball as well as the bat taking 36 wickets at 26.13 and making 446 runs at 37.16.
Hastings was called into the Australian Pace attack when senior fast bowlers got injured. He was selected for the ODI team touring India in October 2010. He played his first international game against India at Vishakhapatnam in October 2010. His priced wickets were the Indian Captain MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli in that match. John Hastings got selected for Indi Commandos Kochi which is an IPL team.
