Mumbai Indians will be up against old foes Chennai Super Kings when the two teams clash against each other at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai for their IPL fixture on Sunday, May 5.
The Mumbai Indians have a golden opportunity to push for 14 points which will see them in a healthier position in the IPL points table than the fourth place that they currently occupy.
The Mumbai Indians have an excellent team which has produced some fantastic games this season in the IPL and one feels that they should be on course for a final berth after finding form as a team under the stewardship of Rohit Sharma.
Sharma himself has been crucial for his team and has gained a healthy reputation of a man who has what it takes to do the big hitting.
More importantly, the talented right hander has found some consistency which was lacking in his game. In fact his lack of consistency has often cost him that coveted place in the Indian XI. Kieron Pollard has been another man who has been performing throughout this tournament.
More than anything else, it is his fielding that lifts the side in tight situations.
The Chennai Super Kings are top of the pile at this moment and MS Dhoni and company will be looking to keep up the pressure on the other teams. The Super Kings are probably the most well balanced team on paper.
There is enough Indian talent here. Mike Hussey lends them the class on top of the order while Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni do the big hitting when called upon.
The likes of Murali Vijay and S Badrinath are good enough to keep the scoreboard ticking while Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo are both excellent all-rounders. There are some decent bowlers in their ranks as well and the Super Kings are looking good for yet another final berth this season.
