Mumbai Indians will be looking to capitalize on the sorry state of affairs of the home team when they come up against the Delhi Daredevils in their IPL fixture which will be played at the Firoz Shah Kotla in New Delhi on Sunday, April 21.
The home team continue their terrible run of form and there have been no indicators that suggest that their form will improve as the Mumbai Indians come calling.
It could not get any tougher for the Daredevils with one of the tournament heavyweights coming to pit their wits against what looks like a feeble home outfit.
The only men who can change their fates for the better are David Warner, Mahela Jayawardena, and Morne Morkel. The team clearly lacks quality and has been battered by all of their oppositions so far in the league.
One would not bet on David Warner against the Mumbai franchisee which boasts two top notch spinners – an area that Warner has struggled with so far. The Daredevils will need to play out of their skins and excel in every department of the game if they are to cause an upset.
The Mumbai Indians come to the capital on the back of a heavy defeat to the Rajasthan Royals and they will be looking to take out all their anger when they take the field on Sunday.
The opening combination of Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting has not worked so far and both batsmen have looked out of sorts to be entirely honest. It has been the likes of Dinesh Karthik and Rohit Sharma who have carried the team on their shoulders in almost all the catches that they have won so far.
Kieron Pollard’s presence lower down the order lends this team a lot of strength. If the Mumbai Indians play to their potential, this team will take some beating.
