Mumbai Indians will look to get their IPL campaign back on track as they go head to head against bottom side Delhi Daredevils at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday, April 9.
The Mumbai Indians have been consistent performers ever since the inception of the tournament and one feels that there is enough firepower in this team to overpower a depleted Daredevils outfit.
There are some fantastic cricketers in this team in the forms of Ricky Ponting, Sachin Tendulkar, Ambati Rayudu, Kieron Pollard, Harbhajan Singh, Pragyan Ojha, Munaf Patel, Mitchell Johnson and Lasith Malinga.
All these players are match-winners in their own rights. There are also some decent squad players in their ranks with the likes of Dinesh Karthik and Rohit Sharma plying their trade for the Mumbai Indians.
The main draw of the evening, however, will be Tendulkar, and Pollard, who won them the match against the Chennai Super Kings quite single handedly.
As far as the Delhi Daredevils are concerned, there is an awful lot of improvement that is needed for them to get back to winning ways.
The side have been hampered by injuries to star players like Kevin Pietersen, Virender Sehwag, and Jesse Ryder while their best bowler, Morne Morkel is playing in the South African domestic t20 league and will only join up after the completion of that tournament.
The two men who is playing exceeding well in this year’s tournament for the Daredevils is Mahela Jayawardene and David Warner who was explosive against the Rajasthan Royals the other day.
However, spin bowling continues to haunt Warner and it will be interesting to see him go head to head with Harbhajan Singh and Pragyan Ojha. Andre Russell is due an explosive knock this season and he will be one of the men to watch out for.
This may not be an even contest but I have been proved wrong before.
