Sri Lanka have romped to a comfortable nine-wicket victory over West Indies with Mahela Jayawardene and Tillakaratne Dilshan in good form in Colombo on Thursday.
The result is an ominous warning to all sides at the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup which begins in Sri Lanka next week.
Sri Lanka easily accounted for the Windies who posted 6/132 from their 20 overs, with Johnson Charles topscoring with 30 off 26 balls, while Darren Bravo and Kieron Pollard added 29 and 28* each with Nuwan Kulasekara (2/35) and Lasith Malinga (1/27) the best bowlers.
In response, a Sri Lanka victory never looked in doubt as Dilshan Munaweera belted 24 off 22, before Jayawardene (57 not out) and Dilshan (50 not out) finished off his good work to romp home with 26 balls to spare.
For the Windies, with Chris Gayle rested they lacked firepower and their innings included no sixes, which was a major reason for their downfall.
