After a two-day break, the Sri Lankan Premier League returns with action in bulk as two matches are scheduled to be played on Friday.
The second match sees Basnahira Cricket Dundee line up against Nagenahira Nagas in Pallekele in whats is expected to be a crunch encounter, especially for Basnahira.
Basnahira Cricket Dundee have one win from two matches and, in a tournament where each team plays six matches, they will be eager to not fall back too far behind by losing again.
Their last match ended in an eight-wicket defeat against Uva Next. Basnahira have posted decent totals in both their matches, with their batting centering around Tillakaratne Dilshan who has two half-centuries to his credit.
The captain has, however, received little support from his fellows and would expect more from his batsmen. The bowlers cannot be blamed for being unable to defend average totals, such has been the pace of T20 cricket nowadays.
Also due to inexperience, the team is struggling to find the right mix of bowlers and has had to resort to part-timers who have had little success.
For the Nagenahira Nagas, the campaign has been blemish-free so far with two wins from as many matches.
That scoreline means they are top of the group, being the only team with four points. In their last match, they chased down 160 with ease as the Pakistani pair of Ahmed Shahzad and Imran Nazir cut loose opening the innings.
The platform was later utilized by captain Angelo Mathews who scored 42 runs. He does not seem to be having too many worries with the bowlers also responding well as Ajantha Mendis, Sachith Pathirana and Ben Lauhglin picked up two wickets apiece.
Mushfiqur Rahim has been safe behind the stumps with three dismissals to his credit in the last match.
The match starts at 8.00pm local time.
