As the action in the Indian Premier League continues, two of the top four sides will feature in the second of the two matches on Saturday as Delhi Daredevils prepare to host Pune Warriors. The two sides have played some good cricket in the season so far with Delhi Daredevils starting as the favorites.
The hosts have won four of the five matches they have played so far, and are currently enjoying a hat-trick of wins. In their last match, they managed to come out on top despite being landing in trouble early on in their pursuit of 157 against Deccan Chargers. The grit and courage shown by the team speaks volumes of the tenacity they have shown so far.
Kevin Pietersen spearhead the difficult chase after three wickets fell early as he scored an unbeaten century, pounding nine sixes on the way. Morne Morkel continues to be the star with the ball, well supported by Shahbaz Nadeem as well. [Virender Sehwag]], the captain, will be hoping to continue the rich team form further with another strong show on Saturday in front of an expectedly sizable home crowd.
Pune Warriors, led by Sourav Ganguly, slipped to their second consecutive defeat on Wednesday, leaving them with three wins from six matches. Their chase fell away in the middle overs against some tight bowling as the batsmen found scoring hard. Ganguly is expected to be charged up for the match after a few frustrating moments cost them the match.
Marlon Samuels will be under attention again after he picked up three wickets with the ball, only two matches after his action was reported. Ashok Dinda, though did not play the last match, can feature in the line-up on Saturday while Jesse Ryder will be hoping to come good against one of the better bowling units in the IPL.
The match starts at 8.00pm local time in Delhi.
