The Match: The Rajasthan Royals will host the Chennai Super Kings in the 52nd game of the Indian Premier League 2011. The game will be played at the Sawai Man Singh stadium in Jaipur and will see the two teams grit it out for the top four spots in the points table. >
How the two teams match up: The Rajasthan Royals have had an interesting last few games, an up and down set of results. They have 11 points off the 10 games that they have played as compared to the 12 points that the Super Kings currently have. The two sides also played in the last game that was played at the Chepauk where the Super Kings emerged winners. This will give the Royals an added incentive to try and avenge that loss at the hands of the Super Kings.>
Ground Conditions: The Rajasthan Royals know the conditions really well at Jaipur and they will hope that they can get going with them as they have done so far in the tournament. The pitch will be difficult to bat on as is usually the case but the Super Kings have a similar pitch back at home too and that should make it interesting for the two sides.
The Teams: The Rajasthan Royals have had a four-day break to think through their tactics and there is a good chance that the side will see a couple of changes. It is a surprise to see the presence of Stuart Binny for instance, in the middle-order, as it is for the side to go in with the same bowling line-up again. Deepak Chahar’s absence is surprising.
Ross Taylor needs to be given the opportunity to bat at the number four position – a mistake that the side keeps making very second match. Between an Ashok Menaria who can probably hit a six every once in a while and an international star in Taylor whose batting revolves around getting a start and then going for the jugular, it is only natural to have him play at four and give him more time.
Chennai had selected Wriddhaman Saha in the previous game but he may revert back to getting in S Anirudha for this game.
Players to look out for: Murali Vijay hasn’t had much to write home about and will look to ensure that he can get off to a start. The Royals will need Shane Warne to come good in what will be his last IPL.
Prediction: Chennai will be slightly favourites but to beat Rajasthan in Jaipur will need someone to take up the responsibility on his own shoulders.
