The Match:
The Rajasthan Royals will play the Kochi Tuskers in the 28th game of the Indian Premier League. The match will be played at the Sawai Man Singh stadium in Jaipur, a home game for the Rajasthan Royals. >
How the two teams match up:
The two sides have seen their fortunes bobble like an object on the waves. Rajasthan had started the tournament with consecutive wins to go to the top of the table. Then, came a series of winless games. They lost two in a row, abandoned one thanks to rain against the Royal Challengers Bangalore before they went on to lose another one to the Kings XI Punjab. Now, they are left with five points from six games, which means that another loss here will push them back. >
Kochi started out with a couple losses. Then, almost miraculously they pulled off a win against the Mumbai Indians and followed it up with wins against the Chennai Super Kings and the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Ground Conditions: The game will be played at Jaipur where the batting should be easy but there should be help for the spin bowlers.
The Teams: The Rajasthan Royals may look to make changes to the side again despite having made four in their previous game. One of them could just be the inclusion of Johan Botha, who comes into the side in place of Shaun Tait. Apart from him, the side will also need to shuffle some batting around – Shane Watson needs to bat at the top of the innings while Ross Taylor will look to come in the top three or four or at a stage where there are many overs remaining.
The bowling could see Siddharth Trivedi get some rest in the game after his poor showing in the previous one, to be replaced by Amit Singh.
The Kochi Tuskers will have the pair of McCullum and Jayawardene at the top but one senses that it is the batting of Ravindra Jadeja against his former team that will make news. Jadeja had been unceremoniously dumped by the franchise after he had asked for more money and he will look to prove a point.
This will also be a game which will see Muthiah Muralitharan play against Shane Ware, a rivalry that should bring out the best in them.
Players to look out for: For the Royals, the batting of Ross Taylor will be one to watch out for. As compared to that, the Kochi Tuskers will rely on RP Singh to provide them with the early breakthrough.
Prediction: Rajasthan will edge out Kochi in a thrilling game.
