The Match: Rajasthan Royals will play the Delhi Daredevils in the seventh game of the Indian Premier League which will be played at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur. This will be the second game for the two teams in this season of the tournament.
How the two teams match up: Rajasthan go into the game with a win to their name in the first match of the tournament against the Deccan Chargers. Delhi, on the other hand, were mesmerised by the bowling of Lasith Malinga in the first game of the tournament and were bowled out for a meagre 95 in that match. The likes of Virender Sehwag found life difficult against his bowling and went down in a heap. Another loss here will push them back very early in the competition.
Ground Conditions: The match will be played at the Sawai Man Singh stadium in Jaipur, which is the home ground for the Royals. Batting will be far easier than it had been in the games that both the sides had played in at Hyderabad and Delhi respectively.
The Teams: There cannot be too much doubt that the Delhi Daredevils had gone into the game against the Mumbai Indians with one pace bowler too many. There was Morne Morkel who opened the attack with Ashok Dinda, which was followed by the two Indian pace bowlers in Irfan Pathan and Umesh Yadav.
While it must be said that the bowling did its bit in trying to restrict the opposition even while chasing 96 for the win, the pace quartet needs to be replaced by a spinner. Yogesh Nagar could come into the side.
Shane Warne’s Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, may not require a change given that they had come home winners and with a performance that was quite clinical to say the least. However, understanding the manner in which Warne operates, it will not take him too much to tweak things around; a changed pitch, a small niggle or just a surprise element or two.
That said, the Royals will look to continue with a similar top-order in the batting, with Swapnil Asnodkar having an outside chance of making it to the playing eleven.
Players to look out for: Delhi will need something special from Irfan Pathan with both, the bat and the ball, while the Royals have Ross Taylor looking like he is in the form of his life.
Prediction: Rajasthan look favourites to clinch this game unless the Daredevils can really come up with something drastically different from their previous game.
