*West Indies:’*Strengths’: West Indies may be two-time champions in the World Cup cricket, but in recent times, their form has run out really bad in the recent times. What may go in their favour though is the fact that they have some really big hitters of the ball, who on their day can take any opposition out. So, if one looks at the format of the tournament, it should not be too difficult for the top teams to get to the quarter-final stage and after that, West Indies does possess the game to win one or two freak games with their batsmen.
Weakness: The bowling could be an issue. First of all, they don’t have a specialist spinner except S Benn in their ranks. Benn is a decent bowler but he has had his disciplinary issues and that means that there is a good chance that they may not go in with a spinner. The pace bowling department had built up well as well when it gave way to injuries – Fidel Edwards, Jerome Taylor, Darren Taylor have all been injured for a long time and it does look like Kemar Roach will be all alone manning the bowling attack.
Players to watch out for: If Roach remains fit, he will be the one bowler to look out for, but they will need their batsmen like Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo to deliver the results with the bat. The trio will need have had a lot of bad blood going against them and will need to prove that they can still deliver at the international stage.
Matches against: South Africa at Delhi, Netherlands at Delhi, Bangladesh at Mirpur, Ireland at Mohali, England at Chennai, India at Chennai.
