South Africa will be looking for a win when they face India in the first One Day International at Kingsmead, Durban on Wednesday, January 12. They could only manage to draw the Test series, which finished 1-1, and were soundly beaten in the one off T20 game played at the Moses Mabhida stadium on Sunday. Could tilt game in SA's favour>

The game was also a tribute to Makhaya Ntini and was played to commemorate the arrival of Indians to South Africa, 150 years back. Will play a huge role>

South Africa wouldn’t want to read much from that T20 game. They were missing their two premier fast bowlers, Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel, who will be back for the ODI series. South Africa also have five spinners in the squad, surely for the first time in their history, with the World Cup in the subcontinent in mind.

Johan Botha should play but it will be interesting to see who will play in the other spinner’s slot. Imran Tahir and Francois du Plessis are the players vying for that spot and at the moment it looks like du Plessis, who will be preferred due to his batting talents and electric fielding.

India will be brimming with confidence. They did very well in the Test series and the presence and good form of all the youngsters have given India a great chance to beat South Africa in a one day series in South Africa.

Sachin Tendulkar will return to the ODI team after a long gap. His last game was against South Africa in Gwalior, where he scored a memorable double hundred. He needs to get his touch back in the ODI format, as this is the last series before the World Cup. Murali Vijay will make way for Tendulkar from the team that played on Sunday.

Ravichandran Ashwin is likely to be replaced by Harbhajan Singh, if the track has a green top. India will go with their three man seam attack featuring, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, and Praveen Kumar. Yusuf Pathan and Yuvraj Singha will share the fifth bowler’s duties.

The game should be a cracker and India are the favorites but the return of Steyn could tilt the game in South Africa’s favor.
