*South Africa’:*Strengths’: South Africa boasts of a bowling attack which can easily be described as the best in the world currently. They have Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel and a good enough back-up staff in the pace bowling department, and to complement the fast bowlers, Johan Botha will be a handy asset in conditions which should assist his style of bowling. And not that their batting too weak either – with Hashim Amla and Jacques Kallis in the middle-order and AB de Villiers and Graeme Smith on either side of them, South Africa could well be the team to look out for.
Weakness: It is South Africa’s ability to choke in crucial situations that will work against them. What will make it very difficult for them is the fact that their performances in the previous World Cups will work in their minds and in a tournament that needs to win three knock-out games to win the cup, it will be a difficult job. South Africa have never entered the final of any World Cup since their first one in 1992 despite being in the semi-finals on three of the occasions. Not for no reason has the title of chokers been attached with them.
Players to watch out for: The one bowler, if fit, can destroy the opposition will be Dale Steyn while Amla could just be the batsman to watch out for South Africa. Especially in Asian conditions that he really enjoys batting in.
Matches against: West Indies at Delhi, Netherlands at Mohali, England at Chennai, India at Nagpur, Ireland at Kolkata, Bangladesh at Mirpur.
