New Zealand will be playing only for pride when they take on India in the fourth One Day International at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Tuesday, December 7. India have already won the five match series by winning the first three ODIs comfortably. Can he provide a start?>

The worry for New Zealand would be that there hasn’t been a sign of fight from them. India have brushed them aside in all the three games, winning by big margins. Only in the first ODI did New Zealand look good enough for a challenge. But they messed up with the chase and left too much for the later order batsmen to take care of. Will get a look-in>

India have swatted them aside in the last two games. They picked up early wickets and the Indian top order batsmen, especially Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli, have been in prime form. Gambhir has scored two consecutive hundreds and has looked in total command in the last two games. Kohli has scored two consecutive half centuries to go with his excellent hundred in the first game and has looked assured in the crease.

India are likely to give a chance to Saurabh Tiwary in this game by resting one of the senior players. Murali Vijay has got starts in all the three games but has thrown away his wicket by playing needless shots or by going for needless runs, like in the last game. He has to make use of the chance provided to him to make an impression to the selectors.

The problems for New Zealand are multifold. They are missing Brendom McCullum and Jesse Ryder, two batsmen who can be termed international standard and who have a good record against India. Ross Taylor looks completely out of touch and should soon regain form if New Zealand want to break this barren run that has stretched to nine games now.

India are favorites once again and would be aiming for a complete sweep. It will also be interesting to see if few of the lower order batsmen are promoted up the order to give them a good outing. Thus far, New Zealand have not been able to get past the first four Indian batsmen.
