**At Sharjah, 1985: ** It was one of the lowest scores defended in the history of ODI cricket and it came courtesy an exciting game between India and Pakistan. Pakistan decided to field on a green-looking track at Sharjah and for most part of the first 60% of the game, the decision looked vindicated. What a spell in a losing cause>

Imran Khan bowled a spell that could at least be defined as excellent and the Indians fell like nine pins. Ravi Shastri started with a first-ball duck and the rest of the side fell away soon after, with only three cricketers scoring double figures. Mohammad Azharuddin made 47, captain Kapil Dev scored 30 while Madan Lal made 11. Only scorer for India>

India were bowled out for 125 as Imran ended with bowling figures of 6/14 off his ten overs.

In reply, the Pakistanis needed to bat 40 out of the 50 overs and they would have probably won on a canter. And at 35/1 they looked like winning the game with consummate ease as well.

As it turned out, the Indians came back from the back in a rejuvenated manner and once Mudassar Nazar was sent back by Roger Binny, Pakistan lost three of their main batsmen for ducks – Javed Miandad, Ashraf Ali and Imran all sent back for no score.

Saleem Malik fought on with a 17, but the rest of the order failed to cope with the swing and spin of the Indian bowlers and capitulated to 87 all out – handing the opposition a 38-run win.

Kapil bagged three wickets while the rest of them were shared by the remaining Indian bowlers.
