The 12th game of the Champions League T20 will see the Central Districts try to notch up their first win in the tournament, when they take on the Warriors at Port Elizabeth. Warriors have won two matches out of two, while Central Districts have to win one. >
The Central Districts had had a horrendous performance against the Chennai Super Kings in the first game of the tournament, but came back well against the Victorian Bushrangers. It was only a master innings by Aaron Finch that meant that the Central Districts were left without a win. The Warriors, on the other hand, beat Wayamba in the first match before overcoming Victoria in the second to garner full points.>
The Warriors will know that a win here will put them through to the semi-finals, but if they lose they will have to endure the not-so-pleasant prospect of having to beat Chennai in the last game of the tournament to get to the knock-outs. As compared to that, the Central Districts will need to win both, this game and their last one against Wayamba to have an outside chance of making it through to the last four stage.
The Warriors had a good previous game against the Victorian side, where their captain, Davey Jacobs led from the front and won it for the side. The side has been propped up in their batting by Jacobs and the wicket-keeper and experienced, Mark Boucher but will need the likes of Colin Ingram to come to the party as well. Ingram has had one of the best averages in the domestic Pro20 tournament in South Africa and he will need to try and get back to getting a big one.
As compared to that, the Kiwi side has had issues with their start. In the Chennai game, they had lost three quick wickets and had failed to recover from it while chasing a strong score. Again, in the second match, the Central Districts had lost two wickets for two runs before captain Jamie How assisted them in a recovery. Things will need to change at the top of the innings for the Central Districts.
They would also hope for the regaining of fitness of Adam Milne and Mitchell McClenaghan, both of whom had missed the previous game due to injury.
