PCB yet to submit Lahore attacks report

The ICC has said that the Pakistan Cricket Board has yet to submit the report surrounding the terror attacks on the Sri Lankan team at Lahore last year.

The ICC has said that the Pakistan Cricket Board has yet to submit the report surrounding the terror attacks on the Sri Lankan team at Lahore last year. The attacks had taken place when the Sri Lankan team, on a tour to Pakistan, were on their way to the stadium from the hotel. Eight people were killed, apart from seven Sri Lankan cricketers who got injured in the attacks. One of those injured in the attacks>

These attacks meant that none of the teams now travel to Pakistan to play international games there. Pakistan has had to travel to neutral venues to play their games, including playing New Zealand in New Zealand for a home series, and using UK as a home venue against Australia.

After the incident the ICC had asked the PCB for the report but according to the ICC CEO, Haroon Lorgat, the ICC has yet to receive it. Lorgat said, “We have asked them and we haven’t received it.”

Butt said that the report had been completed and it needed to be approved by the Government of the country. Butt said that since this was a sensitive issue, it could not be sent across without the permission of the government.

It is said that Pakistan’s interior ministry, the provincial government of Punjab and other security agencies are involved in making the report and hence, the delay in doing so. It is also said that it will be report like this which will probably allow the country to come back to the cricketing road map.
