The Pakistan Cricket Board is in trouble again with the sports committee of the Pakistan Parliament. The cricket board has been asked to explained the controversial selections that took place for the Pakistani tour of the UK where they will play both, England and Australia in Tests.
The selectors and the PCB officials involved in the selection have been called up to face the Parliament. >
The head of the Senate’s committee on sports, Abdul Ghaffar Qureshi, said, “We have come to know that there are injustices in the team selection and to probe that we have summoned officials and selectors in a meeting in Islamabad on July 9.”
The team was announced at the behest of Mohsin Khan, coach Waqar Younis, captain Shahid Afridi and manager Yawar Saeed and the rest of the selectors were not present either. Even the other selectors have expressed concerns about the same. The biggest issue was the non selection of Younis Khan, whereas there were other notable exclusions like Faisal Iqbal and Mohammad Sami which surprised the fans.
Iqbal spoke openly against his exclusion and so did Misbah ul Haq, who said that he had a better average than those who were in the side.
Pakistan play Australia in a couple of Tests and in four Test matches against England.
