The suspended IPL chief, Lalit Modi will reply to the third show cause notice that the BCCI had sent in a day’s time. Along with the notice, Lalit Modi, will also re-send the request to pull N Srinivasan, the Board secretary out of the proceedings later. >
The legal counsel of Lalit Modi, Mehmood Abdi said that there was an unnecessary and a continuous issuing of the legal notices, which showed that the BCCI had not done their homework. He also added that “the allegations are wholly misconceived and irresponsible”
Abdi also said that his client, Modi, was seeking Srinivasan’s exclusion from proceedings against him. He added, “Despite this, the honorary secretary continues to issue further notices to him. Therefore in the interest of justice and fair play it is incumbent upon Srinivasan to totally exclude himself.”
Abdi’s contention was that there was no requirement to send a third show cause to Modi, but by doing so, the “BCCI had exaggerated a non-issue”. He also accused the BCCI of making a mountain out of a molehill.
