ECB waits to hear from BCCI about CLT20

The ECB has said that it has yet to hear from the BCCI on their participation in the Champions League T20 (CLT20) that will be played this year in September.

The ECB has said that it has yet to hear from the BCCI on their participation in the Champions League T20 (CLT20) that will be played this year in September. The tournament was to be scheduled between 10th and 26th of September, but the official dates have not been released. Will his absence make a difference to England's chances?>

The problem with the aforementioned dates is that the English season will be in its full swing around the same time, and it would be almost impossible to imagine the ECB change its dates around to accommodate for the CLT20. The schedule had earlier been announced by Lalit Modi, but Modi is no longer in the office, having been suspended as the chairman of the IPL.

The ECB CEO David Collier, said, β€œIt is extremely improbable that any English county will be taking part in the Champions League. The sanctity of the domestic season is of the utmost importance, as all the clubs agree.”

However, he said that the ECB had proposed to the BCCI to have a tournament that featured the top two teams from the Champions League T20 and the finalists from the T20 tournament in England. Last year, the two finalists who played from England were Somerset and Sussex.

South Africa is the host of the Champions League T20 this year. India had hosted the tournament last year from 9th of October to 23rd of October.
