Mumbai Indians will look to confirm their place in the semi-finals when they take on the Kings XI Punjab at Mohali in the 41st game of the IPL this season. The Mumbai side has seven wins out of the nine games that they have played, whereas the Punjab team is already out of the tournament with only two wins and with only four more to play. Was exhausted in the previous game>

The Mumbai Indians lost their last game to Chennai after they were set to chase a rather difficult target under conditions which were barely impressive enough to play cricket. Sachin Tendukar had to retire hurt due to the excessive heat, and the rest of the Mumbai players just capitulated to leave them struggling for the runs. Looks like he is getting back to form>

Of course, the weather would be very different in Mohali, and much better than the Chennai weather. However, more than the weather, what would be interesting to note is whether the Mumbai Indians are able to chase down a target batting second if Tendulkar does get out early; something that hasn’t happened before so far in this tournament.

Kings XI Punjab, on the other hand, will look to make things more difficult for the opposition. In the last game against the Rajasthan Royals they should have drilled home the advantage, but failed to do so by giving away two wickets in one over to Aditya Dole. This also leaves them with much to think about as the side would need to pile on the runs if they want to test their opposition.

However, the one good news is that in the last 2-3 games, Yuvraj Singh has been timing the ball really well, making it ominous signs for the opposition. He should be the player to watch out for, and the Mumbai bowlers would need to keep a close eye on how he goes about his business.

Mumbai Indians go into the game as definite favourites for this one, but will know that the odds of 8/13 (Totesports) will not count for a lot, if they do not string together a performance like they have been earlier against a side which knows no fear. Bodog offers 11/8 for a Punjab win.
