A new venue, Jamtha in Nagpur, will see the Deccan Chargers play the Rajasthan Royals in the 36th game of the IPL this year. Both sides are in a position from which a win could make things a tad easier, but one gets the sense that it is the Deccan Chargers who need to win this much more badly than the Royals. His comeback will augur well for the side>

Chargers are currently placed in the seventh position on the points table with only three wins, whereas the Royals are only one spot above them with four wins, but they have played a game extra. So, if the Chargers win this match, they will have 8 points from nine games, the same as Rajasthan, and Kolkata and Chennai, making for an interesting next few matches! Needs to be called back into the side>

However, for the Chargers to be able win the game, they will need to bowl much better in the slog overs. More often than not, it is in these last few overs that the match has been lost for the Chargers, as was seen in two successive games against the Mumbai Indians.

It is the bowling that is a worry for the Deccan Chargers, as neither Kemar Roach and nor Ryan Harris were able to get the better of their opposition and that begs another question that needs to be asked of the Chargers. Why did they drop Chaminda Vaas in the first place when he was performing reasonably well for the side in the first few opportunities that he did get?

From the Rajasthan Royals’ perspective, they will know that the presence of Shane Watson adds a lot of meat to the line-up. As he showed on his debut in the third edition of the IPL, his batting is a huge asset in the end overs of a game and despite not having bowled too well in that game, he should be able to bowl his four overs on a consistent basis.

Besides, the interesting bit about this battle is actually the fact that Gilchrist and Warne will go against each other; two who did not see eye to eye on many a matter during his playing days for Australia.

So, nothing much to choose from between the two sides, as Deccan Chargers, despite their position in the points table go in as minor favourites – 9/10 at Totesport as compared to the offer of 1/1 for Rajasthan to win by William Hill!
