The Chennai Super Kings will take on the Royal Challengers in the first return game of the tournament. The two sides had earlier met in Bangalore and the home side had easily won the encounter. This time around, the match will be played at Chennai. >
The Chennai side go into the game knowing that they are gasping and struggling at the bottom of the table. With only two wins from five games, it is only evident that the side needs to do more in terms of wins, and then leave the rest to the mathematicians. >
However, the basic problem for them has been the absence of MS Dhoni in three games, and the travails with the bowling for them. They will be waiting on the arrival of Doug Bollinger, but that will happen only after this game, and so, their bowling in Albie Morkel and the rest of the Indians will need to perform much better.
Not only have their pace bowlers caused much problems to their skippers, but even someone like R Ashwin had a torrid time and was replaced by Shadab Jakati. While Jakati has had a couple of good games, it remains to be seen whether the Bangalore batsmen will allow him to settle down.
Talking of the Bangalore batsmen, they will be rejoicing at the re-entry of Kevin Pietersen into the IPL. The good thing for KP is that he will be coming in from Bangladesh where the pitches were of the similar nature to the one that he will encounter in Chennai and the other parts of the country. His form had been excellent as well, and he could replace the out of sorts, Eoin Morgan.
The Bangalore side will go into the game as favourites, with a win taking them to the top spot. Bodog offers 8/11 for their win but then Chennai is not too far behind with Sky Bet giving away 6/5 if they managed to win their third game of the tournament.
