Bangladesh play England in the first game of the ODI series at Dhaka. The series consists of three ODIs and two Tests and will require the Bangladeshis to play out of their skins to be able to overcome – or even harbour those – the English side. 
The hosts will depend on their batting to come good, but more importantly, they will hope that they do not collapse in the manner that they have been doing in the last two months or so. The opening pair of Imrul Kayes and Tamim Iqbal has provided them with starts that have held them in good stead, but the rest of the batsmen, save the tail, has not managed to contribute much. 
The chief culprit there is their former captain Mohammad Ashraful who know finds himself out of the side and the side will now hope that the middle order tightens up its act and gets a reasonably big total if they bat first.
As compared to that, the English side will know that they cannot afford to start the series on a losing note. They have already rested a couple of their players including Andrew Strauss, their regular captain, and will know that a loss could open a can of worms. They do possess some of the hard hitters in the world today, but whether they will find their feet on those Bangladeshi pitches against left-arm spinners, is a question to be answered.
