β€œIt is not my interest to coach internationally,” the retired batsman quoted. β€œI am very happy with the business side of things I am looking to set up, and with my family life. I do not have the time [for coaching] and I do not have the desire.” Flemming is favored for the job owing to his experience and his devotion for the game. He has played a total of 111 test cricket matches and 280 one-days. After retirement, he carved out a second career as a businessman while staying in touch with cricket by coaching Chennai at the recent Twenty20 Indian Premier League.

New Zealand team is in a fix following the abrupt retirement of Andy Moles, their former coach. The unguarded team is headed for an ODI series with Pakistan in Abu Dhabi. Others considered for the job are John Wright, former Indian coach and Steve Rixon. Wright is presently the high performance director for New Zealand.

The New Zealand team management is in high hopes appointing the coach before the start of the series at UAE.
