The second game of the day will have Trinidad and Tobago facing the New South Wales Blues. And it is a vital game from both team’s perspective given that a win here would take the side through to the semi-finals.
Trinidad and Tobago have exceeded many an expert’s expectations, and in all probabilities, their own as well. New South Wales, on the other hand, had come in as a strong side, and have done as well as some would have thought. They have been clinical in their bowling, and their batting has dominated proceedings in conditions that have been anything but batting-friendly.
And given that the game will be played on a track which will be different from Kotla and not exactly play low, but may be slow to come onto the bat, one almost thinks that it will be advantage for the Caribbean side. They possess a battery of slow bowlers, who would be able to stifle the run-scoring and that would work well for their side, especially if T&T bat first.
This is one reason why Stan James’ offer of 8/15 for NSW Blues’ win is surprising as compared to Sky Bet’s 15/8 for T&T to beat their Aussie opponents. Clearly, the difference between the two sides is much lesser than that!
