Tamsin Beaumont, the wicketkeeper was selected by the England woman selectors in a 14 strong squad to tour St Kitts from October 31 to November 14th, 2009.
It is believed that she will be replacing Sarah Taylor. The head of the England women’s cricket, Clare Connor commented that as England’s opening bat and wicketkeeper in all limited over, Sarah has been through many tough period with international competition in 2009. So, the England management team agreed too of her development which will be possible through a focused period of physical regeneration and conditioning for the next two months.
Another reason behind this is Sarah will be working with the support team to play full part in India tour and also the ICC World Twenty20 in the West Indies next year.
On the other hand, Beaumont played a significant part with the gloves and bat in the Women’s Academy matches against ICC Europe XI the previous month and was instrumental in Kent’s unbeaten run of 10 games in the LV County Championship. Her 136 opening against Surrey impressed the selectors.
