The third period of the Sports Pundit IPL Fantasy begins from the 4th of May and will go up to the 10th of May and will have 11 matches being played during the same time.
All teams with the exception of the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Kolkata Knight Riders play three games each, where as the aforementioned teams feature in only two. Kolkata and Bangalore also feature on the last day of the period ā 10th May ā and will have Mumbai and Delhi along with them. So, if the transfers need to be made to get maximum players from the teams apart from those featuring on the last day and then make the necessary transfers to get players from these four; it could work as the most ideal situation.
Some of the news from the period gone by is that Kevin Pietersen has flown back and so needs to be subbed rather quickly. Similarly, Chris Gayle will no longer be a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders and Rahul Dravidās return to the playing fold is unknown. Instead, there will be a few Australians joining some of the squads.
David Hussey will represent the Knight Riders, a move that can only help them. Andrew Symonds will make the Deccan Chargers much stronger, while Shane Watson could return for Rajasthan and James Hopes for Kings XI Punjab. Bangalore will also be boosted by the return of the economical bowling of Nathan Bracken.
Virender Sehwag seems to have got his campaign derailed with a finger injury and he could be out for a couple of matches. His form was looking a little suspect as well during the previous period.
Some of the players to look out for during this period could be the likes of Murali Vijay, Albie Morkel, J.P. Duminy, Yusuf Abdullah, Simon Katich, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Lee Cardelsine, Yusuf Pathan, Sourav Ganguly, Reold van der Merwe and some of the others. I will preview the batsmen for the next week in my next piece.
