Leatitia Robinson
Leatitia “Baby Girl” Robinson is a professional boxer from who trains with Frank “Cat Daddy” Smith. Born in 1980 in Illinois in a rough neighborhood of Cabrini Green where she was exposed to street fighting at a very young age. She fought and won her first Golden Gloves competition in 1995 under the training and guidance of Tony Sils and Alfonso Hashbro. She would go on to win the same competition in 1996, 1997 and 1998. She also won the 1996 Citywide tournament held in Chicago.
Her only loss as an amateur occurred in 1998 when she was defeated by New Yorker Evelyn Rodriguez by a 10-2 score. Her last competition with Sils and Hashbro was in 1998 during the PAL tournament before she started training at the Windy City gym in 1999. She won a couple of more fights to settle her amateur boxing career record at 37-1.
Robinson debuted as a professional boxer in 2001 at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, defeating Aicheria Bell with a first-round TKO. In May that year she also defeated Marqueta Robertson with a TKO in the first round, and in October defeated Jeanine Tracey with a third round TKO. A month later she defeated Genevia Buckhalter of Mississippi with a first round TKO. In 2002 she won with another TKO by defeating Norma Galloway in the second round. Her latest fight was in 2005 when she successfully defended her WIBA middleweight title.
Robinson plans to face off with more seasoned fighters like Ann Wolfe and Laila Ali and to be recognized as an undisputed female boxing champion.
