Daisy Lang
Daisy “the Lady” Lang was born on April 4, 1972 in Deisislawa Kirowa in Sofia, Bulgaria but is now based in Germany where she trains with Michael Timm.
Growing up Lang was into martial arts, due to the encouragement of her uncle but mostly for the influence of her three brothers who wanted her to be tough. In 1992 Lang became a national Taekwondo champion and won a European Kickboxing title in Portugal in 1994. A year later she won world titles in karate and kickboxing in the US.
She turned pro in 1996 and debuted on February of the same year, beating Darina Chakolawa with a third round KO. She followed this up with a six round decision over Nathalie Meiss on July 6, 1996 in Frankfurt. A month later she faced off with Bresda Movotna and won in the third round on August 29, 1996.
Lang suffered her first loss at the hands of Michele Aboro in Germany on November 29, 1997. The undefeated fighter moved up to 6-0. However, she rebounded by winning against French boxer Valerie Rangeard in Germany February 14, 1998. Another notable loss was against German boxer Regina Halmich while fighting for the vacant IWBF Super Flyweight title by unanimous decision after ten rounds.
Lang is currently the residing GBU bantamweight champion. She was also the GBU world champion in super bantamweight in 2003 and the WIBF world champion in Super Flyweight from 1999 to 2003. She currently holds a record of 19 wins, 7 of them by knock-out, 1 draw and 3 losses.
Lang currently lives in Düsseldorf, Germany.
