Patricia Demick
Patricia Demick is a female boxer who is best known for being the first boxing champion Chile has for both male and female boxing. She was born on January 26, 1972 in Viña del Mar, Chile, and she became an American citizen after she married her trainer who comes from the United States.
While Demick indeed had a good career in boxing, she also graced a number of magazines as a model sporting sports bikinis as well as boxing gloves. As a result, this has made her become a bit of a sex symbol to some of her fans in Chile as well as for the women’s boxing fanatics.
Her boxing career actually started on March 26, 1999 when she managed to knock out a more experienced Karen Rios, as early as the first round of their bout that was held in Hialeah, Florida. She then went on to win her next two fights through knockout. After her first three wins via knockout, Demick’s managing team felt that it was an appropriate time to step up to a tougher level and had her face Daisy Ocasio, a Puerto Rican, as well as Marsha Valley. Unfortunately, she lost both matches via unanimous decision.
Demick currently holds a boxing record of having 8 wins, 1 draw, 4 losses, and 5 wins via knockout. One match of note was during her fight against Karla Redo for the Welterweight title of WIBA. During the fight, Demick won the match by accident when she won the match after an 8 round decision. Unfortunately, hours after she was declared a winner, it was retracted since it was discovered that the judges had wrongly added their scorecards. Nevertheless, according to boxing rules, if a player is declared a winner – even for a few hours – is already recognized as a winner.
