Melissa Fiorentino
Melissa “The Fury” Fiorentino, also known as “Missy”, is a female professional boxer who stands at 5 feet and 1 inch. Born on January 19, 1977 at Cranston, Rhode Island, Fiorentino used to be an amateur kick-boxer before making a full transition to professional boxing. She is best known for her rapid power-punching style that led others to describe her as the female version of known boxer, Rocky Marciano.
Fiorentino graduated from Roger Williams College, and she serves as a Rhode Island Deputy Marshall. In her profession, she is often tasked with transporting prisoners to and from the courthouse located in Providence.
In boxing, Fiorentino turned pro in 2001, and has then been considered as a fast rising star in the world of women’s boxing. During her debut fight, she fought with Vanessa Pine, and managed to win via knockout during the first round. She then went on to beat Ragan Pudwill via knockout on April 4, 2002.
Throughout her relatively fresh career, Fiorentino has enjoyed one major victory that was achieved in May 14, 2004. This was during the fight she had against “Downtown Leona Brown.” The fight lasted six rounds with Fiorentino being announced the winner via unanimous decision.
Fiorentino fights with an Orthodox stance, and she fights in the Super Featherweight division. Since her time boxing professionally is still quite new, she has been in 18 fights with 15 wins (6 wins via knockout) and only 1 loss. Unfortunately, she has not yet earned a championship title or any of the sorts, yet with her record, Fiorentino is said to be a big wave in women’s boxing.
