Hwan Jin Kim was born on June 25, 1955 in South Korea. He is among the list of boxers which has given much pride to Korea. Hwan Jin Kim is ranked among the likes of In Jin Chi who is a WBC featherweight champion and Kim Ju Hee, the world’s youngest boxing champion. A few other boxers who are take part of Korea’s pride are Ryushoku Ri and Ki Soo Kim, who are both a professional and very prominent boxer in Korea and around the World.

Hwan Jin Kim holds a professional record of 22-2, 8 knockouts and 2 draws. He has also garnered the World Boxing Association (WBA) Light Flyweight Champion from Pedro Flores. This achievement has made Hwan Jin Kim the first Korean to have garnered such title. In 1981 Hwan Jin Kim went against Alfonzo Lopez and fortunately retains the title of being a WBA Junior Flyweight title. He was not that fortunate enough to fight for his belt and lengthen his reign. Though he reigned as WBA Junior Flyweight from July 19, 1981 to December 16, 1981; everything came up to a stop when Katsuo Tokashiki grabbed the title from him.

Despite the fact that he only reigned for a short while Hwan Jin Kim still; though he may not be a hall of famer as compared to the rest but he surely made Korea proud of him.
