Brian Magee
Born on June 9, 1975, Brian Magee is an Irish boxer who is currently the European super middleweight boxing champion. He enjoyed a successful amateur career, competing in Ireland for the middleweight division at the 1996 Summer Olympics. He trained at the HolyTrinity Boxing Club while still an amateur and won the the Ulster senior tittle for four consecutive years .
He turned pro in 1999. Soon after he was in the ring facing off against Dean Ashton at the Bowler's Arena in Manchester on an under card match. The match was short, lasting just two rounds and didn’t go any further after Magee knocked out the opponent.
In 2001 Magee won the vacant IBO Intercontinental super middleweight title by defeating Neil Linford in another England match, before bagging the IBO world super middleweight title. He won the British Super middleweight title in 2008 by defeating Scottish boxer Stevie Maguire, before going on to capture the European title 13 months later with his victory over Mads Larsen, whom he knocked out after seven rounds in Aarhus. He defended his European title against Armenian boxer Roman Aramian in 2010.
He is trained by Harry Hawkins and managed by Pat Magee. His most recent match was against Lucian Brute, who defeated him after 10 rounds in Quebec, Canada. All in all Magee has fought a total of 39 matches, has won 34 matches, 24 of them by KO, and lost 4 matches, with one match ending in a draw.
