Brian Viloria is a professional boxer who was born on November 24, 1980 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Although he is American, Viloria is of Filipino descent, and is best known as the former WBC Light Flyweight Champion as well as the IBF Junior Flyweight champion.

In the world of boxing, Viloria is known as “The Hawaiian Punch.” Incidentally, Viloria is not the first owner of he nickname as this once belonged to Jesus Salud, who was also a world champion during his time.

Before turning pro, Viloria won the U.S. Championships in 1999 as well as the national Golden Gloves. He was also the winner of the World Amateur Boxing Championships in 1999 that was held in Houston, Texas. However, a year later, he was eliminated early in the Sydney Olympics when he went against Brahim Asloum.

Viloria started competing professionally sometime in 2005 when he dropped down to light flyweight. Then he knocked out Eric Ortiz in the first round of their fight with the WBC title at stake. A year later, he was able to defend it successfully and had a undefeated run for about 20 bouts. Unfortunately, his undefeated streak was cut short by Omar Nino Romero who defeated him via decision.

So far, Viloria has fought in a total of 32 fights. 27 of these fights were won, 15 via knockout, and had 3 defeats. Currently, Viloria fights as a junior flyweight and was successful in defeating Ulises “Archie” Solis and won the IBF Junior Flyweight title.
