Ervin Santana got back on track Tuesday night with a complete game victory over the Detroit Tigers. Santana gave up a 2 run shot to Miguel Cabrera in the 2nd inning, but retired 12 straight batters after that. Santana threw very efficient innings all game, never getting down 2-0 to any batter and allowing only 3 hits.

Jeremy Bonderman gave the Tigers 7 good innings before being tagged for 2 runs in the 8th. He did not allow a hit until the 5th and left the game with 7 Ks after giving up 6 hits and 1 walk.

Bonderman’s solid outing was squandered in the 9th, when Aquilino Lopez walked two batters with 2 outs. Gary Matthews Jr. then singled in Sean Rodriguez to win the game.

Notes: Santana was 0-2 with a 6.62 ERA in his last two starts, after going 6-0 to open the season.
