Schroder signs with Oakland

Chris Schroder, veteran right-handed reliever, signed a major league contract with Oakland Athletics on Wednesday.

chris schroder nationals Chris Schroder, veteran right-handed reliever, signed a major league contract with Oakland Athletics on Wednesday. Having spent the last three seasons with Washington, Schroder has appeared in 62 games, and the 30-year old has a 2-5 record with a 4.46 ERA.

With just four relief appearances in the last season, Schroder went 5-4 with a 3.97 ERA in just 43 appearances, with Columbus, Washington’s Triple-A affiliate.

The A’s have also selected the contract of Ryan Webb, right handed pitcher, to add to their 40-man roster. A starter in the A’s minor league, Webb went 9-8 with a 5.19 ERA, in 25 games, with 22 starts, for Double-A Midland in 2008.
