The Qatar ExxonMobile Open, or also called the Qatar Open, is a part of the ATP World Tour 250 which is played on outdoor hard courts. This is primarily called as Qatar ExxonMobil Open due to sponsorship reasons. This event is held every January at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex. The most notable players who have played in these tournaments are Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, and Roger Federer, who all have won multiple titles. Rafael Nadal also won a haul of championship titles at the Qatar Open by winning the 2014 singles title and 4 doubles titles.

Novak Djokovic vs. Rafael Nadal in the Qatar Open

It’s never a secret that Novak Djokovic has a longtime rivalry against Rafael Nadal, and in 2016, Djokovic proves to be a better player in the Qatar Open. The Serbian had won the match 6-1, 6-2 in less than an hour and it’s his 9th winning out of his 10 matches with Nadal. Although this was an unfortunate blow for Nadal, still fans were ecstatic every time they battle on the court together, because of their high performance. Both of them can give their audiences high-quality tennis, without seeing them withdrawing from the match.

After beating Nadal, Djokovic shared in an interview that he had managed to perform each shot that he wanted, that’s why he’s really satisfied with his performance.

Roger Federer Comeback on Tennis

In February 2021, Roger Federer made his first appearance during the Qatar Open 2021 after suffering from a back injury. The Swiss tennis legend had been undergoing a series of surgeries that’s why he has been missing a lot of tournaments. The three-time Qatar Open Champion shared in the interview that he wanted to celebrate victories again, and he wanted to make his comeback at smaller tournaments, where there’s a little stress and pressure in it.
