Born Jonathan Dario Erlich or Yoni as called by his friends, is a professional Israeli tennis player who was born on April 5, 1977 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. When he was 1 year old, his family moved to Haifa, Israel. His father, Daniel is an assistant general manager of a department store and his mother, Susana is a housewife. When he was 30 years old, he got married to his wife Mor, and they bore Amit, their first son in August 18, 2008.

This Israeli started playing tennis at the age of 3, and then played his first tournament at the age of 7. He became a professional tennis player in 1996. He started playing in the singles category in 1997 but Erlich is mostly known for playing doubles with his partner Andy Ram, also an Israeli.

The duo played in the Wimbledon tournament in 2003 in the double’s category. In the quarterfinals of the tournament, they defeated Mark Knowles and Daniel Nestor. However, in the semifinals, they were unfortunately beaten by Jonas Bjorkman and Tood Woodbridge.

In August 2006, Erlich and Ram defeated the Bryan brother from the United States in the ATP Masters at Cincinnati, and successfully defended their title against the Bryan bothers in the Tennis Cup in China by November.

Both Erlich and Ram won their first Grand Slam in the 2008 Australian Open against Arnaud Clement and Michael Llodra. In that same year, Erlich had stopped playing tennis after he had his elbow surgery. He made a comeback play by winning the ATP tournament with temporary partner Harel Levy.

In the 2009 Davis Cup, Erlich will be representing Israel together with Ram, Dudi Sela and Harel Levy.
