Mary Carter Reitano is a female former tennis player from Australia and was born on the 29th of November 1934. She won the single titles during the Australian Championship in 1956 and 1959. She did not reached the semi finals once in her nine attempts. She teamed with Margaret Court and won the women’s doubles titles in 1961. She had three different partners and became the runner up for women’s doubles of the Australian Championship in 1956, 1959, and 1962. She was a runner up in the mixed doubles in 1960 and 1961 in Australian Championship.

Mary Carter Reitano did not join any tournament such as the 1954 French Championship, U.S Championship and the Wimbledon. She didn’t participate also during the 1956 and 1957 and again in 1960 and 1962 matches of the same tournaments. She never participated in any U.S Championships during her tennis career. She won against Thelma Coyne Long in 1955 during the Australian Open, Women’s Singles Match. In the 1956 Women’s doubles, she teamed up with Beryl Penrose and they got the runner up title.

She had two grand slam single titles as a tennis player, out of the seventeen tournaments that she had joined. She received no grand slam title in 1954, none of three in 1955, one in 1956 and none in 1957, none of three in 1958 and one out three in 1959, none in 1960 and 1962 and again none out of three in 1961.

She is among the many great Australian tennis players who were famous during their time.
