Johanna Larsson is a former professional tennis player, who won 2 singles at the WTA Tour and 14 doubles titles on the same tour event. She had attained a career-high placement at World Number 45 in the WTA rankings in September 2016. In 2017, Larsson, together with Kiki Bertens, was noted for winning against top-seeded Barty and Dellacqua. She was also part of the Swedish Fed Cup Team.

Junior Career

Larsson began playing at such a young age, and she debuted on playing international tennis at World Number 79. She also made some significant steps in her career by joining the Fed Cup 2005. At the Fed Cup, she managed to defeat Brenda Schultz-McCarthy and Joanna Sakowicz, who were both top-seeded during their time.

Larsson also entered a wildcard entry in a WTA event at Stockholm, where she defeated Kristian Barrois. However, she was defeated by Sofia Arvidson, who was World Number 1 at that time. In 2006, Larsson suffered a hamstring injury which affected her play. A year later, she decided to make a comeback by playing in the US tournaments.

As a junior, she won the Falkenberg singles title in 2007 and had also returned to the Fed Cup. However, Sweden Fed Cup wasn’t able to bring home the bacon as they were only ranked 9th place.

Retirement

Larsson showed a good record as a tennis player, and in February 2020, she announced that she had retired from professional tours. Her last most notable game was in the 2015 Swedish Title, where he had won her first-ever WTA Tour single title.
