Nina Stojanović is a professional tennis player, who was born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia. Stojanović is known to have been specialized in the doubles division, and as of January 2022, she reached her career-high ranking at World Number 37. She had already won 2 double titles in WTA Tours, and 23 double titles in the ITF Circuit.

Stojanović is currently coached by Andoni Vivanco, and he trained her to have an aggressive style. As a budding tennis player, she is looking highly at tennis legend, Maria Sharapova.

Junior Career

At a young age, Stojanovic already had a passion for tennis. She became the World Number 17 in the juniors division in April 2013, as she had won 3 singles and 10 doubles titles. She was able to debut in the ITF Junior Circuit at the Grade 4 Malta U18 ITF Junior Tournament at age 13. She also debuted in the doubles division at the Slovenian Junior Open.

Things have been working smoothly for Stojanovic during her junior seasons, where she won her first ITF Circuit singles title in Podgorica Open and reached the final round on the doubles division. After a few days, she won her first doubles titles at the Carthago Cup and reached the final round in the Ozerov Cup. In 2013, she opened the year by defeating Maria Marfutina in the final round of the Slovak Junior Open. Another achievement followed when she reached the quarterfinals of the Czech Internation Junior Indoor Championships.

Professional Career

She debuted as a wildcard player during a $10K event in Pirot for the ITF Women’s Circuit, however, she didn’t last long to Lina Gjorcheska during the first round. In 2012, she joined another $10K event in Serbia and Pirot but failed to proceed after the first round. After many tournaments she joined the ITF Women’s Circuit, she decided to venture to WTA Tour.

Her first WTA Tour was a $50K event, but she lost to Aryna Sabalenka during the first round. She also attempted to join the 2016 US Open but lost in the qualifying round. In October 2016, she participated in the Tianjin Open and was defeated by Magda Linette in the first round.

National Team

In 2014, she was chosen to play with Jovana Jaksic to represent the World Group II against Canada. Stojanovic and Jaksic defeated Sharon Fichman and Gabriela Dabrowski in straight sets.

Stojanovic was one of the female tennis players to take part in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, where she partnered with Novak Djokovic in the mixed doubles event. However, they have only reached the semifinals when Elena Vesnina and Aslan Karatsev defeated them.
