Mager was involved in a major controversy when he was disqualified to compete after he failed the doping party at the young age of 16. Despite him denying all the allegations and being completely innocent of what happened, he was given a 4-month suspension. This made him almost stop playing tennis. Fortunately, he met Diego Nargiso who put him back on track and restore his enthusiasm for the sport.
When asked if cannabis can improve his performance, he replied that cannabis can only make his performance worse. When he moved on from the unfortunate situation, Mager shared that he is fixed to do everything to be in the Top 10.
