The year 2021 is considered Marcelo Arevalo’s most successful year. In the 2021 Miami Open, he reached the quarterfinals event together with his partner Horia Tecau. The duo defeated top-seeded pair Farah and Cabal. Arevalos’ second quarterfinals match was at the Australian Open with his partner Matwe Middelkoop, a Dutch tennis player. Then at the Italian Open, the duo was able to defeat Fognini and Musetti at the end of round 16.
