For her achievements in business and tennis, the NAACP will be awarding Serena Williams the Image Awards this weekend.

On Thursday, the organization announced that Williams will be receiving the Jackie Robinson Sports award at the ceremony on Saturday. It will be aired live on BET.

The award is given to individuals who have achieved great heights in athletics along with pursuits for social justice, civil rights, and community involvement.

Other people who have been awarded the same award include Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Magic Johnson, and Wilma Rudolph. The Harlem Globetrotters have also been given the award.

Derrick Johnson, President and CEO of the NAACP said that Williams is a “quintessential example of Black excellence.”

He also said that she is being awarded “From her record-breaking wins on the tennis court to her business acumen to her philanthropic endeavors, she has set the bar for athletes everywhere.”

Williams is considered one of the greatest athletes of all time, not only in tennis. She has 23 Grand Slam titles and has won Wimbledon seven times.

Outside of tennis, she was an executive producer for the film “King Richard”, which won an Academy Award.

She also has her fashion brand and she has her venture capital firm. She has also recently published a children’s book titled, “The Adventures of Qai Qai.”

The 54th NAACP Image Awards will be held in Pasadena, California, and will be hosted by Queen Latifah.
