World No.1 Daniil Medvedev has reached another milestone. He made his 250th career win in Los Cabos. He is the only the second man born in 1995 or later to do so, the first one was Alexander Zverev.
Having missed out on playing in Wimbledon because of the ban on Russian and Belarusian players, this is Medvedevs first match in six weeks. He beat Australian Rink Hijikata 6-4, 6-3 in the opening match at the Los Cabos Open.
When asked how he felt about his 250th win, he said, “Somebody told me this a few days ago on media day, otherwise I would have not known.”
“But that’s nice, that’s probably a milestone in a way I want more victories, but that’s nice to have 250.”
“We’ll try to get more.”
He is the seventh man born after 1990 to win 250 times and the second man born after 1995 to do so.
