Nick Kyrgios is set to earn millions with a new Netflix documentary on being the Aussie Bad Boy of tennis.
The documentary is set to follow his Wimbledon journey this year through to his finals match where he lost to Novak Djokovic. Much of the documentary will focus on the final with Djokovic. He is set to be paid millions for it.
Kyrgios made headlines at this years Wimbledon, not only because of his finals run but also because of his not-so-desirable behavior. There was an explosive match with Stefanos Tsitsipas, which led to fines for both players.
Many will remember that match to be one of the most ill-tempered matches in the history of the All-England Club.
Then there was the finals match with Djokovic where Kyrgios had a fan thrown out for heckling him. He was also fined for swearing in court.
Sports documentaries are nothing new for Netflix and they may be betting on the right horse with Kyrgios. A Daily Mail source said, Sports documentaries are working well for Netflix. They get huge viewing figures across the world.
Nick is fascinating to watch both on and off the tennis court. His antics at Wimbledon made him a household name.
“This film will feature footage, which could be explosive and compulsive viewing. Wimbledon was a very colorful time for him.”
It is also expected to feature interviews with Nick and other members of his team.
Kyrgios, however, says he is not looking to make it to another final, let alone win one. When asked if he was hungry for a maiden Grand Slam title, he said, Absolutely not.
He also added, “I’m really happy with this result and maybe one day I’ll be here again but I don’t know about that.”
