After missing the Australian Open for refusing to disclose his vaccination status, reigning World No 1 Novak Djokovic is reportedly allowed by the French Open organizers to play next year despite his vaccination status.

Upon his arrival in Australia, he was detained over the country’s concerns over his medical exemption to join the opening Grand Slam tournament. After he was released, he was forced to go back to his country, making him unsuccessful to make it through the Australian Open.

His situation in Australia made fans question if he would experience the same thing in the upcoming French Open in May.

France might be denied entry without vaccination, however, France President Emmanuel Macron changed his stance on vaccination. He would also most likely welcome the Tennis World Champion to play under the new mandated rules.

Many fans expressed their concerns over Djokovic’s decision because it might cost him his career. If he continues to refuse disclosure of his vaccination status, then he might experience difficulties from entering one country to another. It is reported that he will be traveling to France, where the French Open is scheduled to start on May 22, 2022.

Djokovic is the reigning champion of the French Open after he defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final round.
